Awards and Recognition
a

Carrickfergus Borough Council has received numerous awards and recognition in recent years.  The Council has entered a number of independently assessed quality initiatives in recent years, in order to test its systems and services against quality criteria.

The level of success achieved in such initiatives demonstrates our continued commitment to delivering the best possible service to our community at a reasonable cost. The Council will continue to identify opportunities to pursue awards as a means of recognising the efforts of staff, elected Members and the wider Borough, and in order to strive for ever better standards of performance.

However, we recognise that these accolades reflect the participation, involvement and support that we enjoy from the Carrickfergus Community. We appreciate your support and we know that it is an integral part of our success. We look forward to working together with the community for our mutual benefit in the future.

Below are some of the awards and recognition that the borough has received in recent years:

Charter Mark
A Charter Mark is the UK Government's national standard for excellence in customer service, and it serves also as a quality improvement tool.  In 2003 our Cleansing Section received a Combined Award – the first of its kind by any council in Northern Ireland.
