Environmental Services Department

Description
The Environmental Services Department and the Council in general could be seen as a major agency in the prevention of ill health and the promotion of good health. The department enforces a range of public health legislation on and is involved in problems within the borough which affect people's health. It seeks to maintain existing standards where appropriate, improve standards where necessary and to actively promote the health of persons within its boundaries.

Responsibilities
The Environmental Services Department is responsible for a wide range of services which can be divided into a number of core areas i.e. Food Control, Health and Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, general Environmental Health, Licencing and Regularity Services, Dog Control, Environmental Education and Client Monitoring.
