Sailing

Set Sail

golf

With the sea on its doorstep and 1000 years of maritime history to draw on, it’s no surprise that Carrickfergus is a haven for seafaring pursuits. Now this nautical nirvana has been further enhanced with the spectacular new Carrickfergus Marina, a home from home for all sailors, and holder of the prestigious 5 Gold Anchor and European Blue Flag status.

The County Antrim Yacht Club at Whitehead and Carrickfergus Sailing Club are bases for some of the province’s most expert helmsmen and women.  Others of the sailing fraternity are found in the Ocean Youth Trust, Sea Cadets and in clubs for Jet-Skiing, Wind-Surfing and Canoeing.
